Five Nights at Freddy’s takes place entirely inside a small security office where the player must monitor the restaurant using a network of surveillance cameras. Animatronic mascots such as Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy begin wandering through the halls, and their goal is to reach the office. Players constantly switch between camera feeds to track their positions and predict their next movement. However, using cameras, hallway lights, and automatic security doors consumes electricity, and the power supply is limited for each night. If the energy runs out, the doors open and the cameras shut down, leaving the player completely vulnerable. Every action becomes part of a tense strategy decision: closing doors too often wastes power, while leaving them open risks a sudden attack. Surviving requires observation, quick reactions, and steady skill as the animatronics become faster and more aggressive in later nights.
